A #Dallas, #Texas, teacher decided to use his #StimulusCheck money from the government to make masks for his students. “I wanted to make the masks for my kids,” Ruben Caceres, who teaches special education, told KDFW. “I wanted to give them something that they would be able to wear. So that if they wanted to take them outside, they would still be protected.” Caceres, who admits he is not exactly flush with cash, said his stimulus check came at just the right time. “Mostly, it’s going to go toward making these #masks,” he said.

Caceres was one of the first to receive the stimulus check because direct deposit was already set up with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). For those who do not yet have their stimulus check, the IRS has created an online tool where you can track it until it arrives.

Caceres is asking people for donations of cotton dress shirts that he can use make into masks. For those interested in donating to his cause, send an inquiry to rcaceres.jr@gmail.com.

  1. It has killed fewer people than the flu. And flattening the curve wasn’t about saving lives from Covid, but about saving Covid sick people from a lack of hospitalization. We’re all supposed to take our turn and get sick sometime.

  2. The heart of individual was good but if they are not in school anymore, and can’t go anywhere, was it needed?
