A man in #StClairShores, #Michigan, did something extra special this week for healthcare workers on the front lines of the #coronavirus #pandemic.

For quite a while, Allen Marshall has been planning to use the $900 he saved to buy a knife sharpening tool, according to the Detroit Free Press.

However, when he heard how the coronavirus pandemic was impacting people’s finances, he decided to use the money to help others.

Wednesday, Marshall stood in front of the Exxon gas station on Mack Avenue and I-75, holding a sign that read, “FREE GAS FOR NURSES.” “With all that is going on with the coronavirus, I wanted to thank the essential workers the best way that I can,” he explained, adding, “I really don’t need that tool and thought this was a better way to spend the money.” Marshall bought fuel for 50 to 80 people on Wednesday and Thursday, according to gas station employee Imran Al Samet. “I just paid for gas for a nurse who works at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor,” Marshall recalled. “He was on his way home from work and said he was happy to get off the exit ramp and receive free gas. Emotionally, there is no one there to thank them at work and this gesture helped him,” he continued.

Once the money was gone, the retired automotive designer simply flipped his sign over to the side that read “THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!!” However, when a woman named Alana heard about his generosity, she decided to buy another $200 worth of gas and even worked the pumps so the nurses would not have to get out of their cars. “They’re heroes and we need to do what we can to support them,” said Alana, whose nephew is also a nurse.

It only takes a small gesture of kindness to show others how much they are appreciated, according to Marshall. “I just love them and I want them to know that,” he concluded. #binspirednews

  1. Those nurses are being paid overtime. They don’t need free gas. But nice gesture I guess

  2. Love that you are sharing some good news during this terrible time @wearebreitbart and @b_inspired_news
