An anonymous donor paid the grocery bills at all four #Kroger stores in #Louisville, #Kentucky, on Monday morning.

The donation took place during the first hour of shopping from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., dedicated to seniors and those with vulnerable immune systems, WAVE reported.

Shoppers said they were grateful and even wanted to pay it forward. “I got free groceries,” Tim French said. “Now, I’ve got to find another way to outdo that.” Shopper Sue Hill was also looking for a way to “pay it forward” during the battle against the #coronavirus. “My husband’s a retired police officer,” Hill said. “We know what the families are going through.” Hill said she did not want the free groceries, but they were already paid for so she says she is going to find another way to pay it forward. “I’ll probably hit up one or two of the people in the neighborhood that I know need it,” Hill said, “But somebody else will get it. I guarantee it.” Kroger did not reveal the name of the donor.

Groceries were paid for at the University of Louisville campus Kroger on Second Street, the Portland Kroger, the Third Street Kroger, and the West Broadway location.

This anonymous donor is not the first to make such a generous donation to supermarkets.

Media mogul Tyler Perry paid the grocery bills during senior hour one morning at 44 Kroger locations in metro Atlanta and 29 Winn-Dixie supermarkets in his hometown of New Orleans, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

WXIA reported that Kroger later matched Tyler Perry’s donation to shoppers. #binspirednews
