Hello, I'm Flurin.
But you can call me Flu.

I’m an artist from Basel, Switzerland, who took the scenic route to get here.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawing and painting. But for a long time, the big questions loomed large: What do I do with my life? Can I actually become an artist? After a wonderfully protected childhood, reality has a way of knocking.

So, I did the "sensible" thing first: I studied Sociology and Cultural Anthropology. But the art itch wouldn't go away. In 2021, I finally traded my textbooks for a leap of faith and became a full-time independent artist. I’ve never regretted it. Not even on the days I eat noodles for the third time in a row.

The Genesis: Ancestors, Descendants & Broken Glass

My first major step into the art world was a project called "Ancestors and Descendants." Think of it as my genesis artwork—a digital exploration of the long-forgotten roots we all share and the echoes we leave for the future. It was my way of mapping the human soul across time.

After that, I truly found my voice in what many now recognize as my "Shattered Glass Style." This style wasn't born in a happy accident; it was forged in my darkest times. During a severe depression in 2017, painting became my lifeline. When I finally emerged, the world still felt broken. So, I started putting it back together on the canvas, reconfiguring the sharp, cutting pieces into something new. Each painting is a act of reassembly—finding beauty in the fragments.

What's Next? Everything.

These days, I’m a proud artistic explorer. I don’t believe in limiting myself to one style or following art industry standards. There are too many ideas to play with, too many forms of expression to discover. The journey is the destination, and I'm just happy to be on the ride.
